What this means
- The content here is general information and wellness guidance, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Our quizzes, trackers, and self-checks are non-medical and self-relative - they help you notice your own patterns over time. They are not diagnostic tests and don't compare you to anyone else.
- Memory exercises and routines are practice for everyday recall and focus - not a treatment for any condition, and not a way to prevent or cure disease.
- Nothing here replaces a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional who knows your situation.
When to talk to a professional
Please speak with a qualified healthcare professional if you (or someone you care for) notice memory changes that are:
- Sudden or came on quickly;
- Rapidly worsening over weeks or months;
- Severe, or affecting day-to-day life and safety (e.g. getting lost, trouble managing medication);
- Noticed by others before you, or accompanied by confusion about familiar people or places.
There is no downside to asking - often it brings reassurance, and earlier conversations are better. If you ever feel someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
